Haiku Lessons

To write a haiku, it is essential to respect four qualities:

  • Sabi : simplicity and an awareness of the passage of time and how it alters things and beings.
  • Shiri : the ability to suggest a love for humble things
  • Hosomi : Discovering the beauty of everyday life
  • Karumi : humor that lightens the seriousness of things
