“ Perhaps, when God breathed on me to make my soul
of birth take root within me, He realized, too late, that He had breathed too hard and that
the soul He had given me, too heavy with infinity, might well prevent me
from living. So, to set things right and help me exist, He placed within me,
along with it, a funny little companion, a mischievous, playful, and laughing spirit,
who plays through my thoughts and brazenly knocks everything over like a
puppy in a game of skittles.
