The sentence

The pain is like the ebb and flow that comes and goes languidly, without languishing, on the hieratic rock that plays its role as scapegoat. It almost always overwhelms it, and if it happens to miss its mark, if it does not completely tame the rock in the moment, it never resigns itself; it always regains its momentum and, as if by some feint, skirts around it, surrounds it, embraces it, and clutches it the next time!
